I thought we were past this
Feb. 3rd, 2009 03:06 pmThis morning, I was running late, so I... started to run. It's early February, yes? I probably should've thought about that before I began running as fast as possible so I'm not late to school (because for some reason I'm always in 2 minutes before school starts). Slipping on the ice hurt like crap, really, but I had to press on. Glad it didn't break or anything. Must have been all the milk I drink in the morning. [insert :> YIM smiley here]
Today wasn't such a good day, though. I didn't even get to go to my favorite hour of the day (2nd hour) because the junior class had to go to a college-related assembly. Don't get me wrong, though; it was the first one that I payed good attention to, and I liked it. But some people kind of had to almost ruin it and P.O. the principal. But hey! At least it's over, right?
... Nope, it happened in 3rd hour. Junior class to the conference center. The whole thing was mostly a scolding to the juniors as a whole, and was intended to be a figurative wake-up slap to those who were taking everything for granted. It didn't quite work out, but at least the people that would normally act up didn't ruin it for everyone. ... But wow, though. He was mad. It kind of made me feel bad because I took those things for granted too.
Anyway, later on some kids decided to pick on this one kid for (it seems to me) no reason at all. That was just stupid. Just when I had the faith that this new generation is wiser than previously thought, they pretend it's middle school again. Bleh.
A little bit of good news is that I'm gonna start thinking about what college I want to go to and maybe what I actually want to study there. I signed up for the newsletter thing for Axia College of University of Phoenix, since it was one of the sponsors of the college assembly thing. It's online, apparently. I wonder if that's really a good thing, though...
